Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane reveals his double Ronaldo envy

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has revealed how he envies the careers Ronaldo and Cristiano Ronaldo made for themselves.

The French tactician has had the privilege of playing with the former and then managing the latter at the Bernabeu.

Considered by many experts and fans across the game to be one of the greatest football players of all time, retired striker Ronaldo is one of only four players to have won the World Player of the Year award three times or more, along with Zidane, Real Madrid’s current Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Whilst Zidane himself is in that list, it appears there is one thing that the Frenchman wishes he had during his playing days and that was improving his goalscoring tally.
“I haven’t played with but I did play against him (Cristiano),” Zidane said at his press conference. “His statistics are incredible. Ronaldo [Nazario] was also extraordinary. I’m jealous of them because I never had that number of goals in me. I just passed the ball.”
